Climate change is becoming a very real problem, and although the causes are still in dispute, it is without a doubt a great idea to become involved with helping the environment, and to reduce the burning of fossil fuels. The panels are not the only thing that needs to be installed. The DC generated needs to be converted to the standard AC, by using an inverter which is usually placed in the loft. These usually need to be replaced before the panels themselves, but they still have a good lifespan.
Over time, the expense of the investment will be chipped away by the money you save each month by generating free electricity, which can be a saving of up to £200 a year. Obviously, the larger system you have, the more quickly the investment will return.
There is also now a government scheme which pays you money for the green electricity you produce, and is making the investment of solar panels a far more worthwhile option for the money conscious.
